Umbali is voted the best venue in Nelspruit last year by the people of the Lowveld and with good reason. The past weekend yet another well organised wedding took place at Umbali.
Weddings are a celebration of not only two people making the lifetime commitment but a celebration of joy, love and family. This wedding was a true culture experience where people from Swazi and Ntabele back grounds came together to celebrate the joyish union between two young people. I have worked at many weddings, seen the same speeches, seen the same old traditions but this wedding stood out from the rest. It was a huge intro with the two flower girls doing a dance and one in particular doing her recited ballet dance. As it is with the introduction of the newly wedded couple the house track started to blast out of the speakers and their wedding party cheered on the brides maids and grooms men as they danced their way into the hall.
The big man, the groom, came in on his own song and met his bride halfway as she entered dancing like the queen she looked like. The food was served as their 200+ party had shared not only enjoy each other company but enjoyed the warm winters afternoon. In Africa it takes a village to raise a child, to plan a wedding and be the village to celebrate the wedding.
Umbali has certainly once again proofed that there are no boarders when it comes to weddings and even though winter weddings are not everyone favourite time of the year it’s certainly a refreshing time to have your wedding at Umbali. The Schoeman’s along with their staff works hard at making that special day extra special and with the Umbali kitchen staff lead by a well experienced Chef you can only expect the best in food and drink.
