The past Sunday was the first Antique Road show at Umbali and what a great success it was. From old family china to great old grammar phone players that still plays that golden years 7 singles.
400 people, a tea garden, a flamingo dancer and talks with the experts in the “Red Room” provided collectors, beginners, fans of antiques and less informed about pieces that has a history that cannot be described in the history books.
From the early beautiful sunny winters morning to the late afternoon, new and familiar faces browsed the exhibits while some sat at the tea garden with a fresh cup of coffee and our famous Granadilla cheese cake as well as a smoked chicken salad prepared by the Umbali kitchen.
Some sipped on crisp white wine or a smooth dry red wine while sitting under the umbrella’s on the Umbali lawn overlooking the Kaapchehoop valley.
One thing is for certain in 2013 the next Antique Road show will definitely be hosted again at Umbali events.
